Remember the Alamo (Bowl)
Mizzou plays Northwestern in the Alamo Bowl on Monday, Dec. 29th. We'll gather at Spitfire in Belltown at 4:30 p.m. (Pacific), with the telecast beginning at 5 p.m. Happy hour runs from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.; you can check out the selections at http://www.spitfireseattle.com.
What's next? Is there life after football season?
This question, "Is there life after football season?", has been extensively studied by research scientists at many excellent U.S. universities, including ours. The happy conclusion, reached by diligent researchers while the rest of you were busy watching football, is "Yes, there is life after football season." Watch our blog for updates, or check our Facebook page.

Frequently asked questions
-
Why should I join the MU Alumni Association?
-
Your membership in the MU Alumni Association provides you with automatic membership in our local chapter and your school/college alumni organization. A portion of your membership dues also provide support for our local events and activities.
The MIZZOU magazine is supported through your membership dues, as well as many other programs on behalf of the University. Last year, ten professors received Faculty Development Incentive Grants, and 124 top-ranked students earned more than $75,000 in alumni scholarships. Over 530 Association events were held worldwide with more than 40,000 alumni and friends in attendance to build fellowship and promote the University. All of these accomplishments are made possible through the support of more than 28,500 Association members.
And as a member, you'll receive a membership card, auto decal and a kit which describes all the many programs sponsored by the Association. The kit also explains many of the new member benefits and services we've developed to make Association membership better than ever, including many ways the Association can help save you money.
Please take a moment to reconnect with your University by completing the online membership application. You may choose to pay by credit card via the secure server, or print and mail the form with your payment. Be sure to indicate "SW" as the referral code. This will enable our chapter to earn extra support through your membership.

Why on earth is there a chapter of the MU Alumni Association way the heck out in Seattle?
-
There are over 900 known University of Missouri graduates in the Puget Sound area. (The beer and coffee are better here than in Columbia, and we have mountains and salt water.)
-
Do you guys ever do anything?
-
Yes. One year, we were even among the top ten most active chapters in the world--the only one of the top ten that wasn't in Missouri.
-
And, when we're not setting records, most of us work. Check out some featured alumni-owned local businesses.
-
What activities does the Puget Sound chapter engage in?
-
We've had boat trips on Puget Sound. We've chartered a bus to the North Cascades and took the boat across Diablo Lake to Ross Dam (followed by an impressive feast hosted by Seattle City Light). We've rented out part of Mount Ste. Michelle winery, had a banquet room in an International District Chinese restaurant, and met at sports bars to watch the Tigers. We've had guest speakers ranging from an appellate court judge, Roselle Pekalis (a Missouri graduate) to MU basketball coach Norm Stewart.
-
And, we have an ongoing e-mail discussion group (see link above).
